Job overview

Train to Teach at the Cedars School (QTS / PGCE) September 2024

The Cedars School is looking to train teachers who are invested in the idea of personal growth.

The school ethos works to support each student to acquire the moral, intellectual and social virtues that are so important for a happy and fulfilled life within a framework of Catholic principles.

Candidates who train to teach at The Cedars will be supported by mentors that nurture their teaching practice and personal growth. They will gain experience of working within their subject curriculums and the wider extracurricular working environment of the school.

Training Provided

Trainee teachers receive weekly support sessions in which high quality practical training is delivered that encourages dynamic and reflective practice.

The training is facilitated in partnership with ITT provider, Best Practice. You will be in school for four days each week with 1 day allocated for centre-based training to further support your professional development.

Teaching commitments start with co-delivery of parts of a lesson and gradually increase until you are delivering whole lessons. As your confidence increases you will deliver sequences of lessons, building to 4-days per week teaching time by July 2025.
