Job overview

The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School would like to recruit a well organised, self-motivated, calm but confident person as a Trainee Site Assistant working across the two campuses. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Heads of Site Services across the two school campuses.

This will include:

  • To assist with site maintenance work at The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School ensuring all legislative requirements and policies are fully implemented under the direction of the Head of Site Services

 

  •  To assist with the security, care and availability of the buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment: to ensure a satisfactory, physical environment and to promote the efficient use of the School’s assets.


  •  To assist with the continued development of the school’s extended services and activities, commercial activities, being flexible to assisting in after school events and holiday provision. 


  • To support Assistant Heads of Site Services to operate and develop the administrative procedures and systems of the school to ensure that all legal and safety requirements with regard to people and property are met


  •  To assist with raising standards and set benchmarks for premises care to ensure a high quality environment in which learning can take place. To provide day-to-day maintenance and care of the school grounds, plant and buildings

 

  • Work with the Health and Safety officer for the school and work towards a Health & Safety qualification. Assist with regular termly inspections and take actions as necessary, Report matters of concern to the Head of Site Services.

  

  • To actively model and promote the values and ethos of the school.”The Douay Way”, “Walk with Me”

 

  • To provide support to the Assistant Heads of Site Services on the strategic matters relating to the management of the premises in terms of its maintenance and refurbishment for the future.



The successful candidate will:

• Possess a calm, confident and assertive manner and relate well to young people

• Be highly organised, have attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Be proactive, resourceful and flexible

This is a fixed term one year contract.
