We are currently recruiting for high calibre tutors to work with Looked After Children throughout the UK. We are committed to closing the attainment gap between them and their peers, and improving their engagement in learning.

Did you know children who are looked after have much poorer educational outcomes in comparison to their peers?

Only 29% of them achieve 5 A*-C grade GCSEs compared to the nationwide average of 78%.

About the role
We are looking for passionate teachers and graduates, to re-engage through one-on-one teaching and to help those whom you will benefit the most.

Tutors are required to work closely with children looked after at their foster homes whilst they are preparing for exams or out of school. This is predominantly after school or occasionally during the day.

We work with children aged 4-18, which is EYFS all the way through to A levels.

Tuition will take place throughout the UK.

Skills and Experience

  • Teachers for all subjects required, with a focus on English, Maths and Science,
  • Understanding and appreciation of working with the care system,
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is highly desirable,
  • For those without QTS, relevant experience is required.
  • Competent administrative capabilities,
  • Excellent written communication and reporting,
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability,

Children looked after represent 40% of children in custody and 27% of the adult prison population have previously been in care, where currently looked after children make up 0.1% of the UK population.

We feel we can empower children looked after, through education and individually tailored support. With your help, we can tackle this social problem from a grass-roots level while helping children achieve learning goals.
