We are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with a ‘student achievement’ focus and a proven track record of rapidly and sustainably raising whole school standards and outcomes.

In particular, we are seeking an individual who:

  • Is passionate about continually raising the aspirations of pupils and staff;
  • Will bring an unwavering commitment to promoting high aspirations and progress;
  • Is a clear curriculum thinker who will develop an innovative and dynamic curriculum with the staff and students in the Academy
  • Has the knowledge and experience of the context in which Millbrook Academy operates, and in turn understand how this impacts on student achievement and attainment;
  • Be an effective line manager with the ability to challenge and support subject leaders appropriately.
  • Has a proven track record of successfully improving student outcomes and;
  • Will not be satisfied until all students are making better than expected progress across all subjects.

The successful candidate will work alongside a newly appointed Principal (recruitment for that post is also in hand) and therefore this post is crucial in the next phase of the Academy’s improvement journey with the senior leadership of Millbrook. We see this post as the next step to Headship and would anticipate the successful applicant will be passionate about becoming the Principal of a school in challenging circumstances in the future. This post is therefore suitable for existing senior leaders or highly successful and ambitious middle leaders.
