Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Welfare Manager to play a key role as part of our safeguarding team at North Oxfordshire Academy.

Acting as the initial ‘bridge’ for families to the Academy, the Welfare Manager will work pro-actively with students, teachers and support staff to provide a service of support to young people and their families, understanding their needs to overcome any barriers to learning, enabling all students to reach their full potential.

You will be required to oversee and work with a designated year group, addressing social, emotional and behavioural needs, whilst contributing to the administration of the Academy behaviour discipline policy, Behaviour for Learning (B4L).

The successful candidate should hold a relevant professional qualification or extensive experience in a relevant profession associated with children’s welfare.
An understanding of child safeguarding procedures is required as is the knowledge of a range of children, young people and families based services. The post holder must hold a clean driving licence and own their own car.
