Are you an outstanding Mathematics Teacher who is forward thinking, inspiring and someone who could make a positive impact on our entire school? The Governors are seeking to appoint such a person for September 2015 to join our already successful Maths Faculty. The successful applicant will be required to teach Maths to KS3 and GCSE at KS4, and will have responsibility for raising standards in teaching and learning and attainment, and in cross curricular numeracy.

We are seeking an excellent, well qualified, classroom practitioner:

  • To work with the Headteacher, Leadership Team, Governors and consultants to continue to raise standards in Numeracy
  • To conduct an audit of the use, teaching and marking of numeracy skills across the curriculum and to use the findings to improve Numeracy across the curriculum
  • To liaise with consultants and SLT to create a vision and long term action plan for the continued development of numeracy across the curriculum
  • Set a whole school focus on a different aspect of numeracy each half term and track and monitor progress against this, providing training and support as required
  • Support staff with selecting and delivering Numeracy Learning Objectives or Outcomes as appropriate
  • Formalise and standardise the terminology used across and within faculties when discussing, dealing with and marking aspects of numeracy
  • To liaise with HOFs, subject leaders and the Study Skills Coordinator to ensure that numeracy skills are being encouraged and developed across the whole curriculum
  • You should have the skills, vision and personal qualities to work with a team of teachers in Maths, and across all areas of the school within the Wider Leadership Team.

A warm welcome to Sunbury Manor School, a proudly comprehensive, mixed 11-16 Single Academy Trust school with approximately 1100 student on roll, with capacity to grow.
