We are currently looking to appoint a Year 1 Class teacher to join our wonderful teaching team. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and well qualified Key Stage 1 teacher to join our school. With our school thriving and increasing numbers we are looking for a Year 1 class teacher to join us in September for the new academic year. You will be teaching our amazing, hardworking and outstanding pupils. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who will be able to excite our pupils and provide them with stimulating, thoughtful and exciting lessons along with encouraging them to excel in every area. This role would be suitable for experienced teachers or those early in their career. Experience of teaching year 1 would be looked upon favourably.  

Located in Walton on Thames, Danesfield Manor School is a one form entry school educating boys and girls from the age of 2 – 11 years of age. With strong values and growth mindset approach to learning, we empower our pupils with excellent knowledge, extensive vocabulary and innate confidence. We believe that a values based education enriches our teaching and learning, allows our pupils to achieve beyond their own expectations and prepares them for their life-long journey beyond Danesfield.

As our Year 1 teacher you will join and outstanding team of teachers. Our staff work well together and as seen in our recent Outstanding Inspection provide an excellent level or teaching to all of our pupils.

The successful teacher should be passionate about children’s learning and be able to motivate students to achieve in every area of the school’s curriculum.

We are looking to appoint a Year 1 teacher who is able to demonstrate the following;

  • Be an outstanding practitioner able to demonstrate excellent classroom practice.
  • Have experience of teaching Key Stage 1.
  • Share the schools values
  • Be dynamic, self-motivated and flexible
  • Have high expectations of pupils’ attainment, progress and behaviour
  • Have strong digital skills – for enhancing learning and work efficiency
  • Have a personal philosophy of teaching which reflects our approach
  • Work effectively as part of a team, building positive relationships with colleagues
  • Plan effectively and is sensitive to the learning needs of pupils of different abilities
  • Regularly assesses pupils’ work formally and informally, using Assessment for Learning strategies
  • Be approachable and confident in dealings with pupils’ parents and external agencies
  • Have good administration skills
  • Have good class management skills
  • Be enthusiastic, innovative and creative with a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school
  • Be prepared to lead a subject.
