Job overview

We are looking to appoint KS2 class teachers to join our forward-looking, positive and energetic teaching staff. These jobs would suit individuals who are at all stages of their careers, including NQTs.

Brumby Junior School is a large, friendly and successful 4-form entry junior school which has an excellent track record of producing superb teachers who make accelerated progress with their careers. We do this through constant supportive coaching, a rich and well-developed training programme (both in-house and external) and the structural flexibility to experiment and trial the best classroom practices.

You would be joining our superb staff-team of over 50 dedicated and professional people, all of whom work incredibly hard to ensure that our positive, energetic, happy pupils are able to get the most out of life and achieve everything that they can. Our pupils prefer hard work and are trained to seek out challenge: they expect lessons to frequently take them out of their comfort zones!

We are looking for individuals who strive to achieve and maintain outstanding practice in their classroom. If you are a teacher who realises the need to constantly develop and grow your own skills and are already - or have the desire to become - an excellent classroom practitioner then we would love to hear from you. The individual we seek will help us to have even more success in our brand new school (opening February 2016) and be instrumental in our goal of providing outstanding, fascinating and challenging lessons for our pupils.

If you are:

  • Passionate about actively developing and strengthening your teaching and learning skills
  • Hugely ambitious for your pupils and yourself
  • Willing to put yourself forward for one of our many annual TLR3 positions in curriculum development, especially in maths, or the study and implementation of the most effective pedagogical strategies
  • Focussed on creating an interesting, positive, supportive and challenging series of learning experiences
  • Organised and professional
  • Willing to learn and share good and outstanding practice
  • Committed to a team approach

Then you are the person we want.

We can offer you:

  • A good school which strives to become even better
  • A brand-new school building in February 2016
  • Positive, energetic and happy pupils with excellent attitudes to learning
  • Year groups of 4 parallel classes, taught in current-attainment sets for literacy and numeracy
  • Termly team planning days (off timetable)
  • Additional whole-staff training days during term time
  • The chance a TLR 3 post for curriculum development in maths or pedagogical development for the right candidates.
  • Accelerated progress for teachers who sustain outstanding performance
  • After school tuition with groups of keen and eager pupils as a further boost to salary
  • A supportive and friendly management team
  • A skilled and dedicated TA team
  • An atmosphere that encourages innovation and creative thinking, whilst also aiming to Keep It Simple and not blindly follow initiatives

Visits to our school are encouraged. We will offer tours of the school at 3pm on Friday 5th June.

Any offer of employment to this post will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. You can see the full version of our Recruitment of ex offenders and Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure procedure on this website.

Please find the application online. See attached job description and employee specification.

Please return completed application forms to the school.
