Job overview

Vision for Education currently require a teaching assistant capable of working Key Stage 2 in a school in Newcastle. The relevant teaching assistant must be comfortable providing support to pupils both 1-1 and in small groups, as well as being confident in challenging environments. The role itself is to initially work full time, and will be an on going position.

The Primary School require that the teaching assistant should have a minimum level 3 qualification as well as at least 6 months experience in KS2. The relevant candidate must be comfortable with behavioural difficulties as well as providing a settling atmosphere to the pupils. Therefore, a motivating, nurturing and patient attitude towards child development is essential. The school’s high standards means the teaching assistant’s ability to work independently, build a rapport with the teacher and children and show involvement in the school’s own ethos are essential for the successful candidate. Experience working with EAL pupils, would be of an advantage however not essential.
