My name is Alex and I am passionate about helping children with SEND to achieve their potential, both within education settings and at home. My experience includes being a SENDCo, eleven years' teaching experience and broad expertise in the support of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across a range of settings. My work has involved supporting family applications for Education, Health and Care Plans, advising school leaders and SENDCos, providing staff training at all levels and practical school management, and working with pupils, families and schools concerning a range of learning differences. I can act as a Parent Advocate when families are seeking to secure an appropriate EHC Plan with local authorities and when appealing to SEND tribunals. I have also worked as a carer for Special Olympics (South East Region) and organised and ran my own Special Olympics Football club.
