This is a lesson plan and resources for a beginner’s Italian lesson to use with KS2. It would be perfect to use as a first Italian lesson, as it involves children learning the most basic vocabulary of ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye.’ The lesson plan gives details of a group starter, how to teach the ‘greetings’ vocabulary, a whole class game, a speaking and listening activity, simple reading/writing activity and plenary. It is highly interactive and allows the children to practise a range of language skills. All resources needed for the lesson are included in the price. A speaking booklet for Italian GCSE students with a set of 100 general conversation questions to help prepare students for their oral exam. This document follows the topic structure for AQA but is editable and could be adapted. The questions are ordered by theme and include all subtopics within the theme. The questions are structured to ensure that students use the full tense range.

I wrote these model answers in preparation for my speaking and writing exam for June 2019. I received a grade 9, so clearly they must have been good enough to secure the grade. They were marked and corrected by my GCSE Italian teacher, who is a native speaker. There are 21 answers and questions in the document.

This is a card sort to help students learn words for numbers (30 words in total). This resource covers 1-20 and 30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,1000,1000000. This would be a useful task with younger groups or low ability groups. There are three separate files, depending on how you want to present the task. - The 'teacher copy' shows a grid with all items already matched. - The 'student version' is a random layout, print this out and give to students. They can then cut out the items and match them, or stick them into their workbooks. - The 'quick cut' is designed so that you can produce 10 packs of cards quickly and easily using a guillotine. Each page has the same card 10 times over. This allows you to remove words that may not be suitable or needed. Alternatively you can print the same page twice double-sided to produce flash cards.
