This unit looks at minibeasts and may be useful either prior to embarking on work of a practical nature or after a practical session collecting and observing bugs. This activity should not replace the practical task of collecting bugs. The thrill pupils have in first hand observations of live creatures cannot be replicated on a whiteboard screen. A great starter activity for KS1 when teaching mini beasts or insects in Science. Print this resource several times, laminate and cut up the photos and hide in a tray with shredded paper. Place a tray on each table and challenge the children to work together to place the photos they find on the correct name of each mini beast. The table to complete first is the winner!
