Going to be using this as part of a Polish day within our school. Starts with an intro to Polish phonics then covers colours, numbers to 10 and family members. Could be used as an alternative to French or just as EAL activity with newly arrived Polish children. Thought i would put it on here as there is a serious lack of Polish resources.
This download provides Polish EAL students with mini flashcards with key terminology in both their home language and English language to improve their BICS (basic interpersonal communication speech) and CALP (Cognitive academic language proficiency). There are 36 cards including everything from sharpening pencils to story time with school subjects , questions and conversational comments and are the perfect way to support a child’s language development whilst embracing diversity and not being too overwhelming.
Top Tip #1- Laminate and pop these cards on a keyring for easy access.
Top Tip #2- Ask the child to draw depictions of the comments on the cards to make them more memorable.
Please do review and rate below.
