This is a lesson about the Night of Power. It includes a Powerpoint, video clip, starter activity, quotations and exam question (taken from the specimen Edexcel paper for Islam: Living the Muslim Life unit).

A powerpoint with main facts and one slide to show some celebraties who support World AIDS day. I'm also getting 2 students to perform a short role play that I got from the Christian Aid website.

I started my assembly with a student reading a speech that she had written in the 'I have a dream' style. Her speech was about equality for all, with specific refernce to LGBT. Another student read the story of Doug Faulkner.

The assembly starts with some facts about the commercial side of Easter, with pictures for each of the facts. What is Easter and how it began is covered next, leading onto Christian beliefs about Easter. How Christians celebrate Easter is also covered. The final slide has a reflection about hope. We are not a religious school. Each slide has notes to accompany it so that you can either allocate pupils to present the assembly or do it yourself. All self-explanatory.

This is an hour lesson for the new Edexcel specification, Living the Christian Life, the worldwide church. It contains differentiated learning outcomes, suggested exam questions, video link and differentiated worksheets.

A quick starter activity for a revision lesson about Utilitarianism. Students have to write key ideas in the boxes next to the pictures.

I have used this as an hour lesson for my Year 11 classes who are revising for the final GCSE Edexcel Islam exam. They have the textbooks and their exercise books to refer to. We use the ‘Religion Peace and Coflict through Islam’ by Waqar Ahmad Ahmedi. The lesson includes exam questions, key word cards, a 6 minute video clip with a worksheet.
