This workbook contains the basis for 6 lessons. I use it for the ASDAN PSD qualification with 16-19 year olds in an FE context. You may want to view some of the video clips or modify some questions before using it with younger students.

This booklet has been created for the Entry 1 ASDAN PSD unit 'Making the Most of Leisure Time'. It will need some modification to use in your area, but most of it can be used as it is.

A worksheet for beginners of the verb to be. It includes examples and an exercise. I use it with adult learners but in the past I have used it with KS4.

I used the PPT first to discuss with my ESOL learners how British Mo feels even though he was born in Somalia. The reading comprehension then shows his struggle in learning English and being different. If certain questions are adapted it could be used in citizenship to help students understand the difficulties of EAL/ESOL learners in our schools.

This work booklet looks at different community groups . It may need some readjustments when talking about local charities.

This is a complete unit of work for BTEC Workskills Level 2 unit 116. My 16-18 ESOL learners enjoyed finding out more about themselves and what they can do for society. It could also be used in PSHE, tutorials and PSD sessions.

This resource has been developed for ESOL learners in a FE college. It looks at banking, saving money, budgeting and credit. In every lesson I have used a video clip from the Bank of England site which gives learners a broader view of the world of banking.

This workbook has been developed for ESOL learners in a FE college. It is designed for the PSD ASDAN qualification but could be used in other contexts. It looks at how our actions affect the environment and includes topics such as; Recycling, GM food, climate change and life in cities. You may want to modify some parts to suit your local area. There are extension activities to suit more able learners.

Originally created for ASDAN PSD this could also be used in PSHE lessons or tutorial. My students and I had great fun doing this together however with the use of i-pads or computers students could work on it individually. I have included a section on mental health and my learners loved making the mood board. With links to the NHS website and “Trust Me, I’m a doctor!” Healthy Living has been given an upgrade!

This document has been created to use with the ASDAN PSD entry 2 qualification. It is useful with any group where you want to encourage team work. I use it in an apprentice style way with the winning team receiving a prize at the end.

As with all my resources it has been produced primarily for adult lesrners although it could be used with other stages, The listening activity for the prices is taken from BBC Talk page 60 activity 2 but you could use your own. the shopping lists are used with slide 8.

The first two documents are grammar worksheets with exercises. The last document is a list of some common irrregular past participles.

I used this with 16-18 ESOL group. First I showed a clip of Shappi and asked what they thought of her English. We then did the reading comprehension I read aloud the parts from the autobiography. They really related to it and the discussion we had was amazing! I hope it works for you.

A grammar worksheet where learners practice articled prepositions.

A lesson about kitchen appliances and our use of them. It covers speaking, listening ans writing aspects of the curriculum. Students practice discussion techniques and narrative tenses. There is also opportunity for individual research on our impact environmentally with differentiation as to how results are recorded.
