We had previewed some irregular conditional verbs. This activity can be used as a stand alone worksheet or for a test.

I used this song to introduce the subjunctive, revise body parts, identify various indicative tenses and it was a nice opportunity to talk about the tragedy of the Madrid train bombing (11M) - making history relevant.

The original idea for a correction grid came from a colleague. I've tailored mine for Spanish. I don't correct student's work - what i do, however, is highlight the error and annotate with a number. The objective is that they become aware of the common errors and eventually, eliminate them.

Reading text (with its foundation in Every Child Matters - TOK link to Truth and Reconciliation) found by a colleague on FB (creative commons). I created IB style questions to exploit the text. Answers are at the very end. I left a few pages blank in case curious students decided to scroll. To help older MYP and DP students access the document, the text could bei cut up as a ‘sort the order’ of the text, small group discussions could take place, then reading comprehension, followed by a writing prompt.
