SOW for the new AQA Poetry exam exploring power and conflict poems. The first section of the SOW deals with the unseen portion of the exam and valuable poetry skills needed to explore the anthology. There is an emphasis on exposing students to as much poetry as possible in order to improve their ability to read and understand the form. There are also suggestions for HL tasks.

A selection of powerpoints and resources exploring Shakespeare's Lady Macbeth and the witches in the play. Context and analysis are included in these resouces. Builds towards a controlled assessment.

A reading booklet of 8 texts. Could be used as a home-learning booklet, during tutor time or in class. A list of reading strategies to try such as deconstructing the text into focus shifts, exploring language by highlighting and deconstructing... tasks students should try when sitting the Paper 1 exam.

Two handy resources that will help students understand Victorian values and attitudes. I have used the A3 word document with a top set year 11 class. They were asked to read through the source information and summarise what they have learnt. This was developed by asking students to compare with modern values and attitudes. Great for helping with Language Paper 2 and Literature Paper 1- especially if exploring 'A Christmas Carol'. The second document can be used as a revision tool for less able students.

I have used these with students as a revision tool to help them understand plot, themes, characters, and writer's craft.

A unit of work teaching key skills and processes for Language Paper 1. All extracts and mark schemes are on the PP. Can be easily added to and adapted. Question 3 requires the class to watch a scene from 'Pan's Labyrinth' however, this could be swapped for another film.
