This will be used as a laminated reference mat for yr 7 French. It has regular verbs and some key irregular verbs, articles, negatives, numbers, months of the year, linking words and explanation of tu and vous. It is an updated version of the sheets I did in November 2014.

This will be used with a middle to bottom set who have done a bit of work on cafe vocabulary but they are not retaining the vocabulary very well. As they have also just done the past tense, I am setting them the challenge to add in their prior knowledge to what they are learning. They will get a chance to record their dialogues and also perform them. I will also get them to peer assess the level.

Using il faut..., manger, boire, dormir in present tense. This is a lesson in a series of lessons for yr 9, hoping to interest them in French via health issues specifically aimed at them. There is a quiz, a small video and homework. Also can introduce future tense asking the higher sets to write- what they do now and what they are going to do.

Mainly foundation vocabulary but a little higher too. Also AQA questions and answers provided. Have included some typical vocabulary used in exam papers and they have a task to find the opposites. Not perfect as realise the questions would have been better on powerpoint but no time to change, so hope it is of use at the moment.

I want to thank RHawkes as I have taken her ppt and adapted it to go with Expo2 Vert. It is for my yr 8 middle ability. The masculine/feminine words are shown and will go with the grammar worksheet in the Expo 2 file. Also the rule about omitting the word un/une is shown. My follow up will be a starter next lesson where pupils work in groups and have to write je suis prof etc - 1word per board.

Card game can be played in groups, putting the masculine and feminine in pairs. Powerpoint to revise hair and eyes and also check that they can see if the description is for a boy or girl. Simple vocab sheet to fill in the adjectives. This was used with my yr 8 lower middle ability. We use Mira 2.

I have kept the numbers simple ( mainly using numbers 1-24). In the powerpoint are the following: Numbers and family members were covered in term 1, so this is a revision of the vocabulary. Whole verb Tener Family members. Examples of how tener is used. 1 short reading exercise and a series of sentences to translate. I work sheet which is for pair work- a reading comprehension. I wanted to show pupils that they don't learn vocabulary in isolation and can use prior knowledge to start making more interesting dialogues. When they had trouble (yr8) with remembering tengo que etc from the grid on slide 5, I got them to make little cards in yellow, pink and white for each column. They put English on one side and Spanish on the other. They laid out the yellow, pink and white cards with English facing and I gave them the sentence, they turned over the cards and were able to give me the sentence. They kept the cards as a revision aid.

Based on Mira 3 but aimed at the lowest set to get them to learn to spell and also speak by recognising the sounds of words, a bit of extension work added on too. Feedback welcomed after you've tried it out and also any suggestions for improving and adding to lesson.Thanks.

Inspirational speaker, who learned languages late and talks about why we put off learning them or think we are incapable. It's worth playing to KS3 and 4- especially as I battle with reluctant GCSE candidates who have given up on themselves.

It is a powerpoint looking at gender of nouns and how the **colour **has to agree with the noun. I have used clothes as an example with the colours. I have only done nouns in the singular. There are a series of little exercises with the answers on the next slide, so they can be peer marked and I’ve got a slide on colours which I copied from (my apologies) from a powerpoint that I saw on TES but I can’t remember who.
