Vikings introduction lessons The Thing! Drama and debate

Here is a SMART lesson ready to go to introduce the subject of Vikings. The lesson is based on drama and debate. The children create their own villages and name them-then are put into a situation where they must decide what they are going to do. This is based on 'The Thing' which Vikings used to attend as a council of ideas and law. Download, rate and comment! You will need SMART software to run this lesson.

Here we have a full, ready to go lesson with resources and notebook. Children must solve the crime by seeing which Eastenders character is lying. There are lots of different parts to this lesson. I have differentiated it 3 times, going from simple first quadrant to all four quadrants. I originally took the idea from another resource on TES but updated and extended it. There are 2 extension activities to this too. This lesson was judged outstanding by Ofsted. Download, like and comment! :-)

This lesson is based around the VCOP super heroes found on the TES. I have taken the villain, Sergeant Sabotage and given him a back story and meaning for the children. Children should either work on their whiteboards or books to write the sentences/words. Thesauruses required. Have a look, give it a go, give me some feedback! I am in the process of making some more lessons in the series. I will upload them soon.

Seems to be very few resources about Waterloo on the internet for Primary, so thought I’d put this PPt together about drummer boys. The information was gathered by a colleague who wrote their dissertation on them. Rate and review!
