A honeycomb set of "I can" statements for each year group linked to the new curriculum. Clear and simple to use for assessment or to have on display.
Colour coded for easy reading across year groups.
I've made some simple word searches to help children learning the spelling rules in the new curriculum. (Meant as independent/partner work once the rule has been taught).
These are specifically for Year 1 as outlined in the appendices of the new curriculum.
I will hopefully make some to go with each sound before the new year.
let me know what you think.
thanks
A rainbow for pupils to colour which represents the colours in their lives.
The sections are:
My favourite colour
The colour of my hair
The colour of my favourite food
The colour of my top
The colour of my eyes
The colour of my favourite animal
The colour of my bedroom
A nice activity to encourage discussion and naming colours.
A set of 10 word searches which link to the phonics / spelling patterns in the new year 1 curriculum. Useful for independent spelling work, homework tasks, starters, revision work in other year groups etc.
Sounds included in this set are: ar, ay, igh, ir, oi, oy, oo, ee, oa and ow.
A set of 10 progressive phonics sound and reading card sheets. I send one of these home each half term based on where the child is in their reading ability. The cards are designed to be cut out and used to play games.
Some example activities that could be done are:
sound hunt
splat the word
find an object
blending sounds to form words
The pack consists of alphabet sounds, vowel digraphs, cvc words, exception words and compound words. These are pitched at year 1 level (as outlined in the NC) however, they would be good from Reception up to year 3 for those who are less confident in reading.
Each set of cards is on an A4 sheet.
A sheet to make learning b and d more fun.
A 10 by 10 square filled with letters, children to use black and red to colour the bs and ds to reveal the picture.
