The Chase Gameshow

(12)
Activity based on the final round of ITV quiz show 'The Chase'. Each table has a whiteboard and pen. Students have 5 minutes to answer as many questions as possible from the board. When a table (or all tables depending on how you wish to set up the activity) have the correct answer, the slide can be changed for the next question. Keep a tally of correct answers. Once the 5 minutes are up, it is the students turn to write questions on their whiteboards for the teacher aka 'The Chaser' to answer. Teacher can have same time limit or less depending on student ability. Keep a tally of teacher's correct answers. Will the class be caught?! This powerpoint has 30 questions on substitution and simplifying algebra. These questions could be changed to revise any topic.

I created this activity to help explain how to divide an amount using ratios: Add the ratios to find out how many 'envelopes' to split the total amount into, then share the money evenly between each. How many envelopes does each person get?

Cubic Sequence Extension Investigation

(1)
A short worksheet with a variety of cubic sequences. The aim is to get students to look at and investigate the difference between terms in the n^3, 2n^3 and 3n^3 sequences. (Divide 3rd difference by 6) Once they have done this, there are some challenging sequence questions for them to complete. (Answers included on a powerpoint) Many thanks for the questions which were taken from resources created by dr185 and rpwelch32
