I was given the topic 'Appreciating Others' for my assembly and found it really difficult to find anything online. So I created this powerpoint which is fun and has two youtube videos attached. I got two of my cheerleading children to make up a 2,4,6,8 who do we appreciate routine. I also got 8 children to create Thank You posters in different languages for my ending. Finally I gave each class 1 certificate of appreciation award to give to a staff member of their choice. I hope this helps.
I am doing Australia Topic for Year 1/2 mixed and could not find any resources suitable for this age group. I have created my own which can be carried out during one lesson or over a sequence of lessons. I have used Barnaby Bear’s trip to Australia as a starter. With the Australian animal resource I challenged my middle ability group to create a poster and present it to the class in the plenary.
15-20minute daily Talk Time activities for 6 weeks. A selection of P4C, Oracy, brainteasers, comprehension and picture prompts to generate discussion and develop thinking skills.
This is a resource that I have created to help support mental recall of number facts. They relate to the Year 3 objectives but can be adapted to suit your class.
This activity requires lots of skills. Obtaining data, converting fractions into decimals and percentages. It also requires children to work out fraction problems within a context using the idea of shopping.
Hello,
Just a quick resource for PSHE. Chn to match question to pictures, discussing their justification. Aimed at teasing out automatic stereotyping and changing their perception of how they see people. Hope it helps.
This is a basic powerpoint used at a staff development session to show the stages of writing. It is all pedagogy and no theory (although it is based on talk for writing) and shows how to teach writing.
