A series of 10 lessons created for my bottom set year 10s. Activities led to a controlled assessment where they had to write a letter. Some activities and resources taken from web address included. Be aware - PDF version of story is peppered with grammar and spelling errors, but was only version I could find online, however made another useful activity where students corrected errors they found!

PowerPoint includes links to videos and an activity to make a paper crane that students can write their own message of peace in.This was created alongside the CND material which has lots of activities included in the pack. Good for getting students to consider their own lives through literature.

These are some lessons I put together using the Edexcel Core Book for the students to prepare for Unit 1, written controlled assessment. This is a follow up lesson I did with my lower ability year 9s. We had already looked at literary devices, this lesson focuses on mainly metaphors and similes. Lots of visuals to aid lower ability groups, with challenge tasks to extend more able students.
