Here is a booklet to give to students that has all the musical terminology they need to know for the new specification of the Edexcel GCSE Music course. After feedback from my students, they were having some issues about which keywords correspond to the various musical elements. The booklet has been organised by the musical elements with each keyword and definition in alphabetical order. Typed up in open dyslexic font to ensure that is inclusive for students who may be dyslexic. Can be used as a revision aid and allows Do Now keyword test activities to ensure students are grasping musical vocabulary. Please do rate and comment!

In this unit of work, learners will learn a traditional Indonesian Gamelan piece and will have the opportunity to compose their own in groups. Included is the workbook to print for each student with assessment rubrics, unit of work and the powerpoint lesson plans.

This unit of work has an inclusive introduction to understanding Binary, Ternary & Rondo Form in Music, where students will be able to compose a melody within a tonal centre. Useful for giving formative feedback to students. I have used this as a way to evidence progress over time for my students when listening to their GCSE Compositions.

Here is a four lesson sequence for Handel's &'And the Glory of the Lord&'; set work. Lesson 1 includes audio extracts to which pupils have to identify sections of an oratorio. You will need to cut up the musical features and allow pupils to sort them out under each musical element. Feedback will be great!
