An introduction to Antarctica through the eyes of Captain Scott. Pupils find out about the climate, where it is and the challenges Scott faced. Pupils have to complete a timeline sort and the write a diary entry from a point along the timeline. Some of the PowerPoint has been adpated from other resources found on TES.

Pupils play the card game to help them with their knowledge of the four plate boundaries. Based on the game Jungle Speed, bit like snap.

Lesson on Sir Ranulph fiennes and his adventures around the globe. Pupils create a storyboard of the pole to pole journey.

In light of the recent EU voting, I decided to make a lesson on migration in the UK and politics. Pupils should look at the key statistics first before completing the carousel activity (print out the PPT slides) on the 4 chosen political parties. They can then vote for their party of choice giving a reasoned explanation why they chose that party. I have tried to make it not in favour of any one party and used information provided by those political parties through their speakers and webpages.

Pupils are looking at Ellen Macarthurs trip around the world by boat and mapping her journey. Touches upon Ellen's ideas of a circular economy.

Introduction to a lesson about Alastair Humphrey's journey around the world by bike. Pupils produce a poster/postcard.

Pupils are finding out about 5 more adventures of Alastair's. Pupils teach each other about the journeys using the cards which are printed from the PowerPoint.

This is a lesson which I have slotted into my globalisation SOW, but it could just be taught as a one off lesson. It is planned to last 100 minutes. All statistics are correct up until 2nd Jan 2020. Any feedback is much appreciated.
