I used this for an observed lesson (good/outstanding). I got students to recap knowledge on task 1, then attempt task 2 in pairs. Swapped with another group to mark and discuss how to get 6 marks (the more 'geeky' the answer, the more marks!), students repeat with tasks 3 and 4. Having impressed upon them that detail and EXPLANATIONS get higher grades, students improved on their first mark and showed progress (always good when being observed)

This quick assessment helps to see how well the students have understood the first half of unit B1. Good for AfL.

Heart dissection worksheet. I made this from several existing TES resources, for an Ofsted lesson (wasn't observed!) The heart labels can be used by the students to place on the dissected heart where they think the structures are visible. Or they can be used as a card sort activity to show that they can match the structure to its function.
