Next steps: Adding two 2-digit numbers together using Dienes diagram as prompt. Children draw the tens and units from both numbers altogether in the answer box and then write down the number it equals in total.

Animal riddles for children to guess-they then create their own riddles about their favourite animals. Brainstorm adjectives, discuss punctuation (question mark).

Problem Solving Activity for KS1. The Easter bunny has to sort his eggs into boxes that hold 6. How many ways can he sort 2,3,4..etc eggs? Is there a pattern? Why? For lower abilities, using egg boxes and multilink was a useful way to visualise and practically represent the problem.

Golden Time trail for class rewards - children can earn a golden coin for class achievements throughout the day such as lining up/sitting quietly/tidying up quickly. Blank golden coins can be written on for additional rewards. Golden time is earned when the coins reach the star.
