Miam Miam!

(11)
Some resources I made for KS3 / S1 pupils. It follows the book Studio 1, Module 2, Unit 5 'Miam Miam!'. I used the Active Teach resources (flashcards for the vocab, listening exercises). For the menu, I let the template on the board. Using the interactive pen, pupils can come to write their menu.

A PPT about Studio 1 (1-5) 'Il est hypercool' with pictures of French artists and a matching game in the end. The colours are here to help any pupil with visual stress. A worksheet (one is differentiated). The first part can be given as homework, the second part can be done in class. A vocab sheet to help.

Stimmt 1 - Kapitel 2 - Revision

This is a revision task I wrote. It's a listening task (multiple choice questions). Pupils can swap their papers and correct each other with the help of the transcript. That way, it is also a reading exercise. The teacher can read the transcript for the listening task. It is also possible to exploit the text orally with the pupils by asking questions such as 'fully describe Anna's father' or 'how are the cats?' etc. There might be a few typo (damn that automatic correction!) so there might be a newer version soon.

La chanson française dans le Top 50

This is a wee activity for almost all year groups to discover what French artists young French listen to. Of course, there's more French artists than just those 5. Do some research first, get the links to the videos. In the end, you can ask which artist they like most/least. And maybe ask them to do some research, for example find another song or another French artist.

This is a wee worksheet I created to get the pupils work on reflexive verbs. This is not an introduction to reflexive verbs. They must already know the routine and how to conjugate -ER verbs.

What time is it? Bingo!

This is a basic bingo game about time. Six coloured boards. One file with the time. It's in French but it can easily be adapted into English, German, Spanish... well, any language, really. I know the youngest loved it.

Qu'est-ce que tu lis / regardes?

This is an activity that combine TV programmes, Cinema and Books, and follows the book Studio 2 Vert, Module 1, unit 1-3. The poster activity is an open ended task. For the song (which I wrote and recorded myself), when they're finished with everything on the sheet, they can think of another verse or chorus or write their own sentences. EDIT: The mp3 song is uploaded, so it's now included in the resource pack. You can download it directly from here. > Don't follow the link, the song has been removed from the site. It seems that I can't remove the link myself.

French in Songs

(3)
Songs I wrote to teach French at BGE / KS3 / Junior High levels. They usually follow the books STUDIO 1, 2 and 3. Can also work with EXPO and METRO. All lyrics: me. All music: me Except ‘si vous votez pour moi’ music: OXYDZ. For England and Wales. S1=Y7. S2=Y8. S3=Y9. Northern Ireland: Y8-9-10. USA: 6th-7th-8th Grade. I am sharing this for free. Feel free to use it in your classroom. Don’t uplaod / share it as your own. It took me time to create and record the songs, please respect that. :) If you create a worksheet for the songs, please credit me as the author of the song/lyrics. Feel free to pass the links on to me, I’ll post them here so other teachers can find your page/work. https://soundcloud.com/frenchinsongs

Une journée à Toulouse - Studio 2 Rouge Module 2 Reading/Writing

(2)
This is a pair / group activity. It can be used for personal work as well. It consists in a text I invented about a day in Toulouse (to seesomething other than Paris!) and it follows the vocab and grammar used in Studio 2 Rouge Module 2, units 1 to 4. Pupils work at their own pace, choosing the reading questions they want to answer first. Ultimately, they will have done all six sections, the 6th being a creative writing about a city of their choice. The outcome can be adapted to accomodate all abilities. I usually print 15 of those and share one between two pupils (classes of 30).
