This is a unit of work which requires students to work in teams and complete the tasks as shown in Series 5, Episode 5 of ‘The Apprentice.’ It is a great way of showing them how the skills they learn in English/Media truly applies to the working world! Encourage students to film their advertisements as they can do some amazing things, including the close up of the product at the end!

A worksheet for use with Guy Hamilton’s version of the play. Students could refer to the text as well. The extension activity allows for extended responses similar to the examination. The interactive whiteboard provides revision of the main events of the play and the final slide will require hard copies of York Notes, or photocopies of pp.8-10.

‘Have a Hart for Art’ (pun on ‘Hart’, referring to Tony Hart), is useful for exploring descriptive writing devices, and is particularly enjoyable when undertaken outside for the drawing and annotation (i.e. planning) stage. The write-up of the setting can then be completed in the classroom. The ‘Describing a Setting’ worksheet is a useful revision tool and could be used for timed assessment response stimulus.
