Shape Bingo

This is a resource primarily for lower KS2, I use it as a mental starter to revise 2D and 3D shape properties. I have only made 6 different cards. There are also definitions included for the teacher to call out. Laminate the bingo cards so you can use them again!

This is the first lesson in a series on different jobs and careers brought to you by social enterprise Stepping into Business. You will be presented with real issues facing people in these jobs and need to make decisions based on finance, teamwork, wellbeing amongst other factors. Some questions have no right/wrong answer but will require you to make a decision nonetheless so your business can carry on operating. The lesson includes curriculum-related questions on maths, English, Art, PSHE, computing and general lifeskill discussion points. It uses many critical and creative thinking skills. It can be used in a variety of lessons or as a cross-curricular lesson in its own right. It should be accessible to all children in Upper KS2 and KS3/4, it also includes some business related language . These can be printed and handed out to the students to work at their own pace, and there is also an online version for display which can be used to prompt whole class or group discussions. The link for this is in the document. Please leave some feedback - the breakfast of champions :) - I am always looking for new and exciting ways to engage children in their learning. Enterprise First Steps - Global Entrepreneurship Week; Anti-Bullying Week

(7)
First Steps in Enterprise is a sample, modular series of workshops made freely available by social enterprise Stepping into Business, created to align with Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015 (GEW: Nov 16-22). There are also many links to Anti-Bullying Week which coincides with GEW with an array of team challenges which celebrate difference. The material is equally relevant at any time during the year. The resource will give children an understanding of how to work as a team and appreciate their own and each other's talents; an overview of economies and industries around the world, develop creative and persuasive skills and basic finance, from a personal to global level. All the games and activities are designed to develop enterprise and lifeskills in the children, showing them why their learning across subjects is relevant to their life. The workshops are designed to be used independently of each other, or as part of a sequence as suggested in the lesson plan. The material is aimed at KS1, KS2 and KS3, but as the teacher you will need to decide which activities are accessible to your class. Look out for the many differentiated and extension activities too. Included in the resource is a sequential lesson plan with teacher notes and advice. There are 5 workshops that are linked to the curriculum in Maths, English, Computing, Science, Geography, PSHE, Citizenship and Art. There is one additional game included as a separate document for ease of printing. Please pass on the link to the material to colleagues and friends that may be interested in using it, and please rate it and encourage others to download it if you like it! We work with schools and businesses all over the country; if you and your class have enjoyed working through the games and activities, please get in touch and register your interest with us so we can keep you up to date with new resources. At SiB our aim is to empower children to be the best they can be. We help you engage and enthuse children about their learning, helping them grow in confidence, giving them the tools to succeed in the 21st Century. Get in touch at: hello@steppingintobusiness.org
