12 lessons planning for Information texts and research sheets for Antarctica and the Arctic, Pets, dinosaurs and flowers (based on the iboard unit on Space). This is aimed at level 2 writers but could be differentiated for level 1 writers
I was looking for hours so I made my own- this has all of the KS1 National Curriculum objectives in a Word Document with space to tick off what has been covered and in which term. It will help anyone who has to track coverage of a subject area in KS1.
Please note: It does not include Maths and English.
An English unit of work (14 lessons) based on the Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaur Series by Ian Whybrow and Adrian Reynolds. (Stories by the same author). This was planned for a more able group of Year 1 children learning about dinosaurs, so there is LOTS of writing and limited differentiation, but it should be easy to add in extra ideas to extend it for Year 2 or differentiate for a mixed ability Year 1 class. Children build up to writing their own book in the series, having read a variety of the books, written a book review for the school library and designed their own dinosaur to go in the bucket.
Real and pseudo words for alternative spellings of ai/air and or along with a buried treasure board.
I have printed and text marked for my lower achievers when using.
Hope they are useful!
A free upper KS2 guided reading unit of work for 25 lessons (about 30 minutes per lesson) on Skycircus by Peter Bunzl. Using VIPER skills as a tool to develop reading comprehension. PowerPoint. Hope it is useful for someone!
