I was graded Outstanding with this Year 1 lesson. Includes detailed planning and 4 differentiated activities. The children read the words by putting sound buttons under them to help them decode. If real put in a cauldron to make a spell. I ve added a work sheet cauldron. Powerpoint introduces the task and can then be an ICT activity for Year 1 working below age expected phase3. Bat real and nonsense phase 4 and phase 5 words for those working at and at greater depth.

Blend the sound to make the sh word. Click for the picture to appear of the sh word. 3 differentiated PowerPoints working on the same basis as the input. e.g click the sound buttons, hear AND see each sound (sound-talking). once the children have blended them self check if they are right but clicking for the object to appear. This lesson got Outstanding when I delivered it to a Reception class.
