This is a starter activity/ game loosely based on the 'dingbats' theme. Children will enjoy guessing the words and as an additional literacy teaching point i get them to spell the key word before revealing it. Fairly easy to add your own words to it if you so desire.

A maths version of the game 'Taboo for IWB&'. An alternative version is get the pupil to at the front and tell the student the key word. The pupils then have to give clues to the 4 &';forbidden' words which are linked to the key word. My additional rules are: You can&'t say it begins with.........You can&';t use the word 'opposite&' in your clue and you are not allowed to use any numbers in your clue. Good fun, gets the class involved and will generate good discussions.

Powerpoint which takes children through the process of creating simple algebraic expressions.Works well with key stage 2 pupils. Worksheet compliments the work covered in the powerpoint. The Publisher file is a variation on the Powerpoint but does work well on an IWB and might be more suited to older children.

This spreadsheet contains all the comments/ criteria used to track pupils on the PIVATS system. The spreadsheet replaces the need for lots of printed paper and it's easy to see at a glance where each pupil is at. Can easily be adapted. Attached word document explains how to use the spreadsheet.

Two worksheets ( one a map ) which has questions based on compass points and direction based on the Simpsons. The map does look good on an IWB.

Powerpoint which introduces key words and angle types - acute, right, obtuse, straight line and reflex.

A 2 page investigation which explores the process of buying a carpet. Skills covered include calculating area/perimeter, measuring and using a scale, calculating percentages. Provides lots of discussion and it is interesting to listen to pupils' perception of the concept of 'free&'. Displays well on an IWB.

This powerpoint is based on the numbers game from the tv show. it isn't random, however, and is more a way of introducing the concept with numbers that get gradually get more difficult. This then leads icely into the &'proper&'; version of the game.

This workbook can be used on site or post visit to the Theme Park. It covers a number of Maths and Science concepts including basic number work, coordinate, compass directions, interpreting graphs, measuring heart rate and forces. Publisher version of the file included as this can be modified to suit your requirements.

This is a complete programme of activities for children from yr 1 to yr 7. The activities cover a range of skills including speech and language, communication, social, fine motor and more. The programme is split into 5 stages and can be delivered 1:1 or in small groups. The programme is not linear and different stages can be used at different times depending on the age and the ability of the children it is being used with. Staff using the programme can set their own time frame for the length of each session and the duration of the programme. A full description of each activity is included and extension activities are also included as is an assessment sheet. Time will, initially, be needed to set up your play doh therapy pack ( printing and laminating ) but once a pack is created it can be used over and over again. A considerable amount of time has gone into this resource and I would be grateful if my work is acknowledged when used.

Follow up from other Simpsons bearings worksheet.

Simple but effective starter activity when displayed on IWB. I get pupils to write their answers on 'Show me&' boards or in the back of exercise book. To create new sets of questions you simply move the &';darts' to new positions on the board. I don&'t always write in the working out beforehand as that makes them longer to create so you can leave that blank and fill it in during the lesson. Provides good discussion of methods.

Works just as well as a teaching resource for the IWB.

Similar investigation to the carpet investigation but based on landscaping a garden. Covers skills such as area, perimeter, scale, 4 rules of number and percentages.

This notebook file is a useful introduction into the topic of probability. Pupils choose the horse they think will win and then the two dice are rolled. The combined score is the number of the horse that moves. Provides good discussions as to why some horses are more/ less likely to win.

a 6 page Publisher file that can be used to teach students how to find the general rule for a sequence. Very visual and on an IWB students can write on the missing values/ words.

Display on IWB. Print off and laminate bingo cards and get pupils to cross off with wipe off pen or counters. New sets of numbers can be created by shuffling the slides in the powerpoint. Good fun and the kids like playing it.

If you want 10 minutes peace then put this on your IWB at the end of a lesson! I laminate the bingo boards and get the children to cover the numbers with counters. As the powerpoint isn't random a new &'set&'; of numbers can be created by simply shuffling a few of the slides around. You can also give the pupils more 'thinking time&' by changing the time duration of each slide.
