This is 2-3 hours hours of lesson content on how to answer the statistical test questions in an A Level Biology exam which could appear in papers 1, 2 or 3.

It covers:

  • Standard deviations and how to use them to determine significance
  • Random sampling techniques and making measurements to avoid bias
  • How to write a null hypothesis
  • How to select the right statistical test: t-test, chi-squared and spearman’s rank correlation co-efficient
  • How to use P values and critical values to determine significance
  • How to write exam answers to secure top marks on this style of question

Examiner’s reports for all questions are also included on the PowerPoint and in the student resource pack so that they can read them and reflect on their own answers as they work.
