Here are some word problems that I used with my year 4 class. They are mainly for addition with some subtraction. I encouraged the children to use rounding to estimate their answers before solving using the column method.
This includes a success criteria for the children which they and the teacher can tick off.
HA chn were extended to round decimals to the nearest whole number and to use the inverse to check their answers.
