This activity works well as a summary and/or assessment following a piece of work on the causes of the First World War. There is an example of a completed cause web, as well as a blank version, and a part-completed version that can be copied. Students can then use the missing cause cards to organise their own version of the web of causes, reflecting on their understanding of the events leading to the outbreak of war.

Gives students an opportunity to sequence the causes of WWI. Clear explanations which allow for students to 'do something'
