Classic and Narrative Poems: The Highwayman

This is a ppt I have built up over a few years with resources for teaching year 5 pupils about the poem The Highwayman. It includes slides with questions and key tasks, activities sheets to explore character, and question cards that can can be discussed in groups. It also includes a Connect 4 game where pupils have to identify the poetic techniques in the poem. The main written outcome from the unit is for pupils to write an account of the events in the poem in role.
