No-prep Complete Lesson & Exam Questions for AQA GCSE 9-1 Combined Science Trilogy & Biology. Includes tasks with answers and covers 4.7.1.1 (most), 4.7.1.2 and 4.7.1.3 (all) . For 4.7.1.1 the interdependence is covered but not competition, which is in another lesson. Students will learn about communities, ecosystems and biotic and abiotic factors.

A related lesson on Animal Adaptations and Extremophiles is here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12622297 and a lesson on Competition in Plants and Animals is here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12631291

I make high quality no-prep lessons so busy teachers can teach outstanding lessons without spending hours planning. This high quality lesson includes explanations, different types of in-lesson assessment (all with answers) and unique exam questions. The lesson goes into a lot of depth and takes learners on a journey that builds up their understanding step by step. My paid-for resources include a preview video to show a representative sample of slides from the resource so that you get a good idea of what it includes before you buy.

As a Secondary Science teacher and Deputy Headteacher for many years I make resources that I know just work: teachers can pick them up “off the shelf” and teach an outstanding lesson that children will learn from. I keep my prices reasonable for what are guaranteed high quality lessons that will save you a huge amount of planning time.

What’s Included:
• Starters / Do Now.
• Explanation slides in “chunked” sections with animated diagrams.
• Multiple questions in different question styles and difficulties - no need for worksheets. Each “chunked” explanation section typically includes a set of “learning check / quick questions” followed by a set of in-depth questions on the learning from that “chunk” of the lesson. All questions have answers.
Exam-style questions on the whole lesson at the end of the lesson- these are unique, based on real exam questions but not just copied from exam boards.
Answers for all questions
• All easily editable to adapt to your teaching or to use in existing lessons.
• Slightly humorous, at points, if you like that sort of thing.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe how populations form communities and communities form ecosystems.
  • Describe how organisms in a community can be interdependent, and how this can lead to stable communities.
  • Explain the difference between biotic and abiotic factors and explain how a change in a factor might affect a given community given appropriate data or context.

The lesson was written for AQA GCSE Science / Biology but is very likely to be applicable to other exam specifications.
