Descriptive Writing- 5 week Project Book - NEW GCSE English Language Paper 1: Creative Writing

This is designed to be used to teach Section B of Paper 1: Creative Writing of the new AQA English Language spec.

This 5 week book is perfect as a homework project- all the activities are stepped and aim to build on students' skills. All the information that students need is provided, so that students can get on independently.

I have used this in class with a small group of students at a PRU and it kept them engaged. Activities are differentiated but it is primarily aimed towards low-mid ability students. EAL students are also able to access it. The book allows students to:

- Practise analysing a text for descriptive/linguistics techniques
- Practise using descriptive/linguistic techniques in their own writing
- Build a bank of sophisticated vocabulary and practise using it in writing
- Practise planning their writing

-Practise responding to an image
