This resources contains a comprehensive introduction to elastic potential energy and its calculation using Ee= 0.5 x k x e^2.

The resources have activities for the lowest to highest level students with level 9 questions to stretch the most able.

Included is a differentiated powerpoint, calculations worksheet with keywords, learning objectives, differentiated outcomes and a range of activities to allow your students to explore this topic. It uses language and models which allow students to access the fundamental concept of calculating EPE, spring constant and extension. Included are learning objectives for grades (3-9). A model answer which scaffolds the calculations needed and allows student to learn how to structure there work when completing calculations related to Ee= 0.5 x k x e^2. The PPT is differentiated throughout with extension tasks for the more able learner. There are exam style assessment for students to test their knowledge. This powerpoint can also be easily adapted for a KS3 class.
