Fairy tales problem solving

Board game to work alongside it.

In groups children answer the problems, once they answer they get to roll the die on the board game. They then do another problem. There are 5 problems in total. This planning is meant for a Year 1-2 class and a week’s worth of planning. Children should ideally do one problem a lesson. I would also include adding and subtracting practise which is included in the PowerPoint.

For further differentiation, model the problem on the board before children go to their groups.
