I used this activity for my mixed Year 2/3/4 class and the children (all of year 2 and LA year 3) had to first sort the animals out on a large scale using hoops on the floor (big Venn diagram!). Following that, I blew up the worksheet to A3 size and the children had to cut and stick them in the right places following their practical work. Extensions were to think of any other animals!

A great idea for introducing Venn Diagrams within a science lesson and for discusisng the concept of herbivore, carnivore and omnivore. Liked how the lesson begins with chidren sorting on a large scale. Could be adapted for SEN children by using a photograph as recording. Thanks for sharing.
