After reading an article in TES regarding Mr Barton's &'soup method&'; I created these resources for the pupils to visually see the addition of negative numbers. I made group sets of 10 red and blue cubes and 1 of each of the other 3D shapes mentioned. Each group then had a bowl in which they put there items in. Hope this is helpful. Any comments and/or suggestions are welcome. [In Scotland this was used for E&O MNU 3-04a]

After reading articles on using algebra tiles to teach addition and subtraction of negative numbers this resource will be used in the same way with a low ability set for them to visually see the concept. Thanks for your hard work.
