Used in WJEC Light and Sound Unit for Science Today Entry Pathways
Very brief and simple powerpoint to discuss volume with a focus on pitch with a few links.
Worksheets have two tasks: 1) pictures of instruments to identify higher/lower pitch (you will need to borrow from music department and adapt worksheet to your own instruments.) I used 7 different instruments.
2) Using glasses with water filled in to identify different pitches
E2 - Identify which part of the instrument plays high / low pitch. Compare two glasses of water to identify high / low pitch
E3 - Identify and describe their findings on high/low pitch on the particular instrument. Compare four glasses of water to identify high / low pitch
For SEN school working with Y7/8 pupils, but could be suitable for primary science
