There is a lesson/topic outline. This was designed as a stand alone activity as part of an environment day but it could be used in conjunction with a Climate Change topic. The idea is that something as simple as a Kinder Egg requires resources to be obtained from all over the world, massive amounts of processing and transportation as well. All of which means that the final product has a large carbon footprint. The final piece of work produced can be either a wall sized flow chart using the pictures and facts or a poster.

Lovely detail and a brilliant idea. I am going to use chrome books to allow the students to find their own ideas of how the resources are found but will use the sheets for the weaker students. Thanks
I love the idea, but all the work is done for the student. An alternative could be to have teams start with the product in front of them in the box and have them come up with the list of materials it takes to produce the Kinder Egg. Then groups could use computer stations to research one aspect (where does chocolate come from?) and could then produce the information for the station or do a presentation so that others can learn from them. More hands on, more self-directed.
