KS1 Performance Poem

A poem for key stage 1 children to learn and perform, or to share in class. The poem is about bugs and serves as a good lesson opener to a wider discussion or topic on nature, the natural world, ecology, creepy crawlies etc

How I’ve used this resource:
This poem is great as a performance piece and can be enhanced by adding simple actions. The children love delivering the final line, pretending they have the bug tickling them. It can also be used as part of an assembly, recital or performance. The poem has also been used as a starter for drama lessons, art activities and could be set to music. Although the guide level is KS1; an able EYFS group could enjoy it too, or it could be used as a solo performance piece for Year 3.
