This fully-resourced lesson focuses comparing genetic diversity within or between species using DNA base sequence, mRNA and amino acid sequence.

The detailed PowerPoint has been designed to cover the 3.4.7 of the AQA A-level Biology specification which states that students should be able interpret data relating to similarities and difference in the base sequence of DNA or amino acid sequence of proteins to suggest relationships between different organism within a species or between species.

Throughout this lesson students will gain a greater appreciation of the gene technology that are used to investigate genetic diversity such as difference in observable characteristics, DNA hybridisation or direct investigation of DNA sequence.

Due to the detail of this lesson, it is estimated that this will take about 1 hours of A-level teaching time to deliver
