Oliver Twist: Writing Activities

These printable English resource writing activities are brilliant as they provide cross curricular links with History (The Victorians), ICT, PSHCE, etc. They can also be used for SATs revision. I have used them in a number of ways - as a carousel (few activities at a time for the areas already covered in English), as one of activity at the end of a unit, as SATs revision. Search on TES for similar activities for Ancient Greek links - Hercules

Some nice ideas to adapt. I think you've put a Hercules theme park card between card 8 and 9, the map does not seem to relate to Oliver, but the idea is good and it's easy to change the labels. Note to other users: do check the grammar and spelling before giving to the class. It's so easy to miss minor errors in such a detailed resource.

fab. Victorians is such a wide topic nice to have it narrowed to more secific activities linked to Oliver Twist. Thanks.

Activity card 5: spelling - should be 'steal' not 'steel' grammar - 'into' believing' not 'in believing'

I'm doing some work on Oliver Twist with my year 1 children, and your activities have given me some ideas of activities to use with them. Thank you!
