This includes:

1. A five pages long information sheet with some facts about the Olympic and Paralympic Games including their mascots. This could be used for research (individually or whole class) when making posters/leaflets etc or as introduction for the comprehension.

2. An 11 pages long comprehension based on the fact sheet. The text is on the top half of the sheet and questions are below for children to answer. This can be split up into two different comprehension activities if 11 pages is too much.
It is differentiated in a higher and a lower comprehension - one with mostly retrieval and one with reasoning and some inference questions.
There is also a reading comprehension for lower ability children or children with EAL with very basic facts and instructions to draw and some early writing.

3. A starter activity to get them thinking about question words and what each means. Also matching questions to answers.
