This resource is based on balls and would appeal to children who enjoy ball games and like their hobbies to be brought into their class work.

The activities will help young children who are beginning to understand place value and are ordering numbers and comparing numbers. Or older children who need some extra help and support in this area.

There is a simple outline of a suggested lesson plan including an idea for a starter and ending activity and the resources for these at the end which can be printed and laminated if necessary.
- 8 worksheets where children cut out and stick numbers in order. There are 3 worksheets looking at numbers to 10. 3 worksheets looking at a and 2 digit numbers and 2 worksheets looking at numbers up to 3 digits.
- 8 worksheets where children cut and paste the number that comes next. 3 of these look at numbers to 10, 3 at numbers up to 2 digits and 2 at numbers up to 3 digits.
- 3 worksheets where children partition a number into tens and units.
- 6 worksheets where children look at 3 digits they are given and then rearrange them to make the smallest possible number and the largest possible number.
